Holidays in a listed building combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a new future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Heritage Society.

Public transport: From Basel by train to Möhlin, then bus in the direction of Wegenstetten, Oberdorf. From Zurich to Olten, then S3 direction Porrentruy to Gelterkinden, from Gelterkinden bus direction Wegenstetten, Oberdorf.
By car from Zurich on the A1 towards Bern/Basel, past Frick, exit Eiken, Bad Säckingen, Laufenburg, through Eiken and Schupfart to Wegenstetten. From Basel in the direction of Zurich on the A2. After Rheinfelden in the direction of Möhlin, Zeiningen, Zuzgen, Hellikon as far as Wegenstetten.
Altitude: 441 metres above sea level.

The whole atmosphere and every detail of the house ist overwhelming. Also the host ist extremely reliable, nice and helpful. I had a hard time to leave this wonderful space.
